ANN SACKS

During my time at Ann Sacks, I spent several weeks working the floor and learning about the issues that a flawed tile design may cause, as well as the benefits of a functional tile.

My day was divided between production work and design work, after I had a strong knowledge of the manufacturing process. For my final internship design project, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the Engineering team, Merchandising team, and Product Development team. 

I designed and produced a single triangular tiles which had the ability to create different patterns. These dynamic patterns are formed based on the rotation of the triangular tile.My experience working at different workstations(forming, firing, glaze making, spraying, grouting, inspecting) during the fast half of my internship, helped equipped me with the skillset that was needed to design and manufacture a tile.
